Is the propane quieter ? - Isaac-1ExplorerAlso have a Honda EU1000i here, I bought a propane conversion kit for it last winter in order to use it with the motorhome for winter camping, though have not installed it yet.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIINot an inverter Generator but when I first started I carried a Genrac 1000.. Noise wise this is about a Honda EU-2000i.. Weight is about the same 8 hours on a tank of gas.. That ran the Converter. Not the rest of the RV. but it ran the converter. Kept batteries up.
I would like to get it back (it grew legs)
And I do not find the Onan 5500 All that loud.. I've stood beside it hands on the Genturi pipe. talking in a NORMAL voice with others. - John_WayneExplorer IILuberhill Just put a "T" fitting inline after the generator fuel pump then put a shut off in the T to a lenght of clear fuel line. When you want to fill the Honda generator put the fuel line into the honda tank push the prime button on the M/H generator and the on board generator will fill the Honda generator fuel tank.
You can also put a shut off valve on the carburetor side of the "T" and when you park the RV for any time just shut this valve off and run the MH generator till it runs dry, no worry of fuel going bad in the carb and gumming it up. - Grit_dogNavigator^ Bingo. The onboard generators I’ve been around are pretty obtrusive when in the camper.
You absolutely can use a portable generator in lieu of the onboard. Was that the question? - luberhillExplorer

Nope. Not sure I would want another gen when I have an onboard one that is fed from my gas tank.
I’m just thinking when parked and I don’t need the ac it’s a LOT quieter - luberhillExplorer

yup use a Honda 1000. let it run until the gas runs out sometime around 2 or 3 AM. Have a pump hooked up to the gas line so I can fill it and the anything else that needs gas. Just flip the switch on the pump that is in the batt comparmenet and stick the fuel hose in the Honda tank.
Explain the pump pls
And do you have the onboard generator ??
And to the guys who use the small generator do you plug your main cord into it ?? - LwiddisExplorer II“use a Honda 1000. let it run until the gas runs out sometime around 2 or 3 AM.“
