- Second_ChanceExplorer IIIf you use the search function, you'll find hundreds of threads on holding tank chemicals. Most full-timers/long-timers don't use them. Let the tank fill up before emptying and then give it a good rinse. Every few months we use the "Geo method" on travel days to further clean the tanks (Google will provide you with several descriptions of the "Geo method).
Rob - RollandBExplorerChanged to Geo Method and have no odors to deal with.
Use lots of water helps. - ChainwrightExplorerWhen we get to a CG the 1st thing we do is drop one of those thingies in there, it's supposed to help with the seals, break down "stuff" and prevent "stuff" from sticking to your tank walls, and Sanitize your tank. And even if it doesn't, It won't break the bank.

Wuuuuaaaaahhhhaaa haaaaaa haaaa. Ralphie boy. - dave17352Explorer IINow and then I will throw one in when I leave the rig parked in the summer or if I know I can't dump for a extended period of time while camping. Every once in a while I find you can get a whiff of jiff when flushing and if you are not dumping for a extended period of time. I think it can help. But I do not use them 90 percent of the time. ok that was funny:) - KD4UPLExplorer III don't use anything in the black tank for a weekend trip or anytime I'll be dumping the tanks in a couple of days. The few times I know the camper is going to be in place for a week or more I will add something to the tank; particularly if the weather is hot.
- TvovExplorer IIWhen the kids were younger and camped with us, we used to use deodorizer of one type or another. Now that it is usually just the wife and I the toilet usage has dropped way down and we seem to be fine without using anything.
- MFLNomad II^^^^Too much info!
