The 2012-13 GM 6.0 gasser will handle 10,000 lbs no problem. You just need to make sure it has 4:10 axle which was a factory option those model years. 3:73 was standard. My last truck was 12 GM with 6.0 gasser and 4:10 and did very well with 10,000 lb fiver. The 6.0 is a proven rock solid performer.
