Does 2 feet really make a difference

Hello all, long time lurker, first post. Spent many many months now looking and touring fifth wheel plans with the intent of nothing larger than 35'. Most of our planned camping will be boondocking, state/national parks and the like. We've finally narrowed it down to two units one being 36', missed our mark by a foot, and another at 38'. My gut tells me if I can stuff a 36' unit on a spot 2' longer won't make a difference. Am I pushing the boundaries to far here for the type of camping we hope to enjoy?
  • I am in the same situation. We are shopping and the goal was to buy a fifth wheel toy hauler 35' or less. Unfortunately we haven't been able to find anything less than 38' to 39' that meets our requirements. We have decided to move forward with the realization that we may not fit in some state/national parks.
  • I started with a 35 ft bumper pull and got rid of it and just got a 40' fifth wheel. Everywhere I have ever camped in the 35 footer I could have got the 40 footer in. We usually just camp in Texas state parks so we have not a lot of experience outside of our state. But it's been no issues for us. I'm sure there are some tight campgrounds that might limit us but we've not found any and If we did we would just move on. As far as pulling it's not hard at all. 2 ft ain't gonna matter.
