dometic 310 toilet issue

I just received a new Dometic 310 toilet to replace the old one which was still under warranty. Two trips under our belt on the new one and its got a slow leak that will eventually fill the bowl up. I replaced the flush valve with a new one and its still slowly leaking into the bowl. I have a pressure regulator on the outside line so I know there isn't too much water pressure. Any ideas?

  • I have tried it all today and it still leaking. A new valve is on the way from Dometic. They say that's the only possibility when water continues to trickle. We shall see
  • When I replaced our toilet a few years ago, I put a ball valve in the water feed line down behind the toilet. I look at it as a backup, but it came in real handy when a large friend broke the toilet valve with great vigor.
  • It is normal for that toilet to have some water flow for a minute or two. Wait a few minutes after a flush to be sure that the new valve is indeed faulty.
  • In your manual it sez if water will not stop filling the bowl, the water valve is defective; replace. It could also be dried out from some period of storage. If that's the case and if the valve comes apart, there's some kind of plumber's grease they use for 'O'ring type valves. Probably the same stuff folks use for sticky dump valves.
If it doesn't come apart or you can't be bothered, call the 1-800 number for customer service and they'll send you a new valve.
