Dometic Awning Recall

I had one of the recalled awnings. Called Dometic last Friday. The service guy called Thursday evening, set up an appointment for early this afternoon. He called about 8 this morning said someone cancelled out on him and could he come over. Twenty minutes later he was in my driveway, forty minutes after that I signed off on the work and he was gone. Not happy that I had a recall on a brand new unit, but Dometic and Dave's Rv Service came through in prompt and capable manner.
I have to give credit where it is due!

    Just an update - I spoke with Dometic this AM. They are dispatching a mobile tech to my house to correct the issue. Nice that I don't have to burn 200 in fuel and 2 days out of my weekends. I assume they don't want the liability of towing to a service center for correction. None the less, I appreciate the approach................
  • It is on the 9100 series electric. I think that the affected ones were manufactured only in February and March 2013. Go to the Dometic web site to check for sure,they give a date and serial # range.
  • Is it a electric, or manual recall??? I have a manual, and haven't been cotacted.
