I donated and older Chevy Station Wagon some years ago. Boy, what a mess that turned out to be. It went to a good charity too. They gave it to a Collage Student. They never removed my name or changed the Titile.
After about a week or two, all the parking tickets starting arriving at our house. I called that Police Department, and even Faxed a copy of the "Donation Papers". They flat out told me that they didn't care, and that I was still respondsable as it was still in my name. They told me to pay the tickets or a Bench Warrnt would be sent out on me. I called the company I gave the car to, they told me once they give the car to someone else, it was up to them to change the registration and Title.
To make a long story shoter, call and really check out the company real good who you give a Donation car or truck or RV to, as it just might come back and bite you in the Butt. my Attorney, took care of everything, that same day, I called him. Like what was said before above, be careful who you give it to, as not all Donation Companies are as good as some other are.

Dan,I don't know about where you are but in Ohio If you donated it to someone and then they disposed of it to someone else and your name was still on the title then they "Jumped Titles" which is illegal in our state. glad all worked out for you.
