This is not an IRS or tax issue at all. Like I said prior, price the rig at $2500, or even $2000 if you like and it will sell quickly. The "donation" gig rarely pencils out, except in narrow circumstance (I know of 1). The OP might even get some members off this forum over to the house for 2 grand. Nice rig BTW.
Bottom line is if you want to give it away and get a few hundred bucks in tax credits, go ahead, but there are better options.
