Don't come to Massachusetts

There should be NO corporate bail outs to the fat cat companies who make billions in the airlines, cruise lines, Disneyland, etc. in the COVID-19 BILL.

They now EXPECT the taxpayers to bail them out all the time and they know it.

They need to start having a Business Plan that includes 60 days of operating costs put in "escrow" for emergency funding. That is on them.

These companies need to stop bankrolling the multi-million dollar CEO's and Board Members, and lining their Parachute, and retirement plans with billions of their company dollars!

They are loaded and need to stop depending on the government to bail them out.

It is our money and this needs to stop.

This will not be the last crisis this country faces, it is only the beginning with what is to come. Think 9/11. No more bail outs. The free ride is over.


Help our State and National Parks right now, not the fat cats!

Steve Mnuchin should be looking at UMEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE as a "temporary" solution to sick pay for those who are truly sick with COVID-19. This is not a permanent solution and should only apply to COVID-19.

With record low unemployment, thousands more have paid into the program and should be plenty of funds. Not everybody is sick.

These workers have alrady paid in to that benefit! Let them tap into it, it is their money.

No more billion dollar bail out bills or making employers pay these costs.

What about the employees who did have "sick time" and use it the minute they earn it and were not sick? We all know people who do this.

That is not fair to those who saved their sick days for when they need it and will now be using their time up. So the ones who had the days and used it for no reason now get a free paycheck? That is not fair.

ScottG, it is tonight at midnight. Wife and I are going out to eat. We will make a point of ordering out to help them. I liked the idea about purchasing gift certificates.

Personally I am glad that our Governor is stepping up to help contain this a bit. All you need to do is look at Italy to see what happens when you let this run its normal course. And, by the way, Italy has more hospital beds per capita than the U.S. Now they are swamped and that uncle of yours who is having a heart attack can't get in for help. Lined up out the door with Covid-19 patients. Pretty ugly scene. Again, glad that our "snake" of a Governor is showing some leadership.

Our Gov. has now stated that all bars (ouch) and restaurants in Washington state will close. Just don't know when yet.

Many schools already have some form of online learning. Problem is in rural areas where not everyone has access to the internet. I know the town I live in has limited internet outside of town. But the library has it. Mcdonalds has it but with limits on dining in may not be open, or just war chalk someplace that has an open wifi.

I do miss having sports to watch.

Someone posted on FB to support your local restaurants by buying Gift Certificates, to keep revenue going, that you can use later.

Great idea.
