Because the owners manual said to do it that way. Owners manual said to run it through WH if no bypass. I tried to put a bypass on it but the way the hot water heater is configured with an aftermarket electric element inside the trailer there is no room for the valves without modifying the kitchen cabinets.
It made sense to me to drain it once I do that all the water was out of it, now I know that it is only antifreeze in any low points in the trailer.
