Drained antifreeze after winterizing; ok or not okay?

PS without a bypass, there seemed to be no reason to use a siphon to pump directly from the bottle. My thinking there was that my freshwater tank truly does pump from the lowest corner of the tank, so there is no wasted fluid. I do appreciate all of the tips and stuff, but I am still wondering what the importance is of leaving the water lines charged with antifreeze or not?
