Ag does not use 80% of of stored water supply. That figure includes environmental water also, it has been highly misquoted by the media. These numbers come from the California Department of Water Resources: Enviromental demands take 50% of the water, ag 40% and urban use the remaining 10%.
I farm and I get ZERO water this year (and last year also). Kind of hard to cut back more from a 0% allocation.

Ag is getting less than 5% of the water they are paying for and now the are told they cant pump thier own water from wells

Yeah you are doing good.
I don't know how much we use a day here in the house but I know it is more than in the motor home. It takes so long for the water at the sinks,lavatories and showers to get either hot or cold I know we use more there. Even though the toilets are 1 1/2 gallon flushers that is still a lot more than in the motor home.

Like you we still are conscious of water usage so I bet we don't hit the national average.

X2 I am in the water business. One family of billionairs The Resnics use 177,000 acre ft of water on their almonds of which 80% are exported.

Almond growers in CA use more water than all residents of LA and SF!
Almonds and Pistachios take 1.1 gallon Per Nut to grow.
Many are exported to Asia.

Pretty sure a reallocation of water is necessary.

Each Pistachio I ate that night, was tempered by guilt that a CA resident couldn't flush their low-flow toilets.
