EDIT. Your diagram shows the adapter shorting the two hot legs together at the plug. It will pop the breaker.

it is not shorted
it is supplying the TWO legs of the 50amp adapter (you can by at any RV store), from the one leg of 30 amp, that is the way the adapters are constructed
IF you took a 50amp male plugged into a 50amp female and tied the two legs, that would be a short
