Dual cam on e350

So I bought myself a e350 12 pass van this weekend as a upgrade from a 1500 yukon xl. My tounge weight is around 780. I have a dual cam setup. I am assuming I won't need the snap up brackets as much now and there won't be as much tension on them. Does this affect the dual cam? I do need sway control on this thing.

Thanks Bill

  • You will have to readjust the settings on the dual cam you have to work with the E350. I had to redo my system when I went from an 88K3500 ext cab, to the 96 K3500 crew cab due to the 96 sitting a bit taller, and slightly stiffer springs and WB as to how it effected the FA etc.

  • When I went from the Libby to the Ram EcoD, I took one off the head tilt and lowered the ball (compared to the libby) by 1 inch. I had to readjust my cams.
  • My thought was if the back doesn't sag as far then it will have to be pulled up less. Obviously I'm wrong
  • That would be a wrong presumption. The snap up bracket tension is still needed to transfer the proper amount of weight. The Dual Cam system is very effective sway control and weight distribution but it needs to be set up and adjusted correctly.
