Thanks, I think maybe part of the problem is they way I'm using the jack. If I try to simulate a turn and then jack it up it twists the head. The only time the head isn't twisted is when it's straight. The photo below shows the head angle. See how the shank is tilted back - so the head is tilted towards the trailer.
