The thing that does not fit is the DC frame plate bowed "in", but I have a thought on this too.
I'm "assuming" you really did not know you had a problem until after the short trip you made, right? Meaning you did not hear a bang or anything, just you pulled out of your drive, went for a ride, got to the end of the trip got out and found this mess? Yes or no? Any bangs, snaps or noise of anything?
