Hhmmm I wonder if it is legal to "discharge" chickens on the highway in NC. One time I was on my way to MB and I kept seeing dead chickens along the highway. I finally found the source. A tractor/trailer loaded with chickens was going down the highway and apparently a couple of the cages had popped open. Unfortunately for the fowl there escape was short lived...:B

Man after seeing some of the posts on here, I bet some of you freak when you drive over a spring that runs across the road or in a little rain storm.

And I bet some of you would absolutely loose your mine if you got stuck in back of a cattle truck on a two lane road like I have a time or two. :B

If I may be a germophobe for a minute...I'm thinking that no plug and a wet surface and 70 MPH wind swirls and road grime and some gunk is getting up inside of the drain tube to contaminate your next load of water.

Maybe a little over the top on my part, but what would you think if I rubbed my fingers on your drive way and then stirred them in the freshwater tank...

Dumping it on the camp site is prohibited by many CG's and even it was not how would you like to be the next camper to pull in that site with your family and have the site flooded with water and mud?

Dumping it on the highway? A cop see's 'any' fluid coming from an RV and he's thinking sewage and big big hazmat & county fines. Got the time to spend explaining to a NON RV'ing person with a badge and gun it is not sewage??

There probably is not one cop in the US that did not see the news about that rock band in their Prevost dump their black tank going over one of the bridges in Chicago. :W

Dumping fluids from an RV on the highways is against the law in many states.

It's very rude to drive down the highway draining your water all over everyones car. It doesn't matter if it's fresh water or not, it's your water dump it properly. I'm sure those that drain their tank down the highway would be very upset if someone walked by their car and dumped water on it. The CHP has no idea what was draining out the back of the RV.

Said i was not allowed to drain any fluids on HIS roadway!!!
I kinda chuckled at him and said "Ok, it will evaporate",, That was the wrong thing to say at the wrong moment in time.. He snatched my license up and stormed off to his car,,,,,, made me wait for about fifteen minutes while he either ran me in the computer or played a round of angry birds??
Came back and told me I was about to be cited for illegal dumping on a public thoroughfare a fine of a minimum of $500.. I asked he could wait while I took pictures of the dumping so my lawyer could see,,,, I got my camera out and asked him What it was I was being cited for as there was nothing on the roadway,, it evaporated!!
Angered, the CHP officer wrote me a Written warning of dumping fluids onto a roadway,, I asked for him to state on the warning that it was fresh water,, He refused and told me to go!! I refused to sign the warning and he tore it off and handed it to me!!

It was nothing,, on a lined piece of note paper,,, Actually was written,,,, Verbal Warning- my name and drivers license #-trailer plate#-Location and mile Marker- date and time- He signed it with his badge#.
So I guess now I am in HIS system???

Moral of the story,,,, Dont drain on a roadway,, Next time I just drained it as I emptied my holding tanks...

That officer needs to be reported to his superiors. He also needs to take a gander at the Ca vehicle code book.

So are these LEOs pulling over every boat that just came out of the water? Boats drain water for miles after being pulled out of the water. At least the water from a fresh water tank is clean. Who knows what kinds of bacteria is being spread by draining boats.

I see stories like this, and it makes so glad I live in NC. At least they have some common sense. Cause that was just stupid, And in fact every tractor trailer truck leaving the Rio Grand valley hauling produce, leaks water for thousands of miles, and normally, when the truck is loaded. 2000 lbs of top ioce is sprayed into the trailer. As it melts, and runs down thru the produce. It runs out of the trailer onto the road. Horror, of horrors.
