Haven't 'touched' one, yet...but from the pic's think the new one has more
head tilt cast in.
Otherwise, they 'look' very similar in architecture
The more I look at them, the more I like this setup
To fully have the ease of unhooking I'd noodle a HD hook to the 'U' bolts on the
end of the spring bars. Then it truly can be undone in a minute or so without
having to use the tongue jack
From your pic...it looks like 3.5 or 4 links out of the latch-up mechanism. That
would then allow 'less' bar end movement, to create more anti-sway vs the other
WD Hitch systems that has many more links allowed to move around
Can even envision the latch-up mechanism having sides that extend lower to
further capture or limit the side to side movement of those links. To further
increase the anti-sway forces...and still allow the bar end to move enough to
not bind or break
That is what the 'cams' do on other WD Hitch systems...along with the bar end
'hook'
Can you guys measure the offset between the ball center line and the bar pivot
center line? On the chart Ron made up above, he assumed a 4" offset. Thinking
more offset better to some point it would become onerous to the function
PS...GMW...from this pic, your tongue looks pointing up and it doesn't
sway? If it should, consider re-adjusting to level or slightly pointing
down
