What I do to prevent this is at the rare time I hit FHU, when I sanitize my FW tank, I dump part of it into the grey water tank, and the rest in the black. At this time, it is about half full. I then dump a cupful of bleach down the commode, fill it up to full, then let it sit a few hours, then dump/rinse again. Not much time spent, and anything living in that tank is now formerly living, so smells are not an issue for the rest of the year.
Maybe, it depends on which toilet you have… there is a large chamber in the commode itself where things can live… you would have to fill the tank until the water just about to overflow the top of the toilet at the seat level to kill those buggers that way…
Unlike a home toilet there is the inner bowl with the dump (blade or ball) valve, and a outer bowl where it is connected to the floor…
