I got both one of the Danfoss compressor type Frig/Freezer (NORCOLD MRFT-40) and a small compact like 12qt. Kooltron Peltier type thermoelectric cooler. We use the NORCOLD as an aux freezer and the Kooltron mainly for things like salad dressings and veggies to save refer space in our main refer. Each has it use an I run the Kooltron on a plug in 12V supply hooked up to a timer so the element won't freeze up (on 12hrs and off 1hr). Only downside is you have to watch the cooling fins in the Kooltron or they will frost over and reduce it's cooling efficiency.
