Electrical outlet
The outlet for the fireplace in our 5er is dead. I've tested all breakers, fuses and the rest of the receptacles and all are fine. Everything else works. Broken wire to the outlet perhaps ? Any ideas ?

- One thing I have found in BIL trailer was pinched insulation. At the panel there was a couple of wires where the insulation was pinched under the terminating screw preventing proper contact at the breaker.
- Just a side note, I have now switched back to the original outlet so now just the water heater & fireplace are on that breaker.

Darn it WDP, I wish you had chimed in at the start. My switch is for fireplace or water heater, and guess what position it's switched to. This was driving me and a friend crazy trying to find the problem and all I had to do is flip the switch. DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

WDP - I solved this the easy way. Put a hole saw through the top of the cabinet and plugged it in to the outlet below the TV. TV sits above the cabinet & fireplace below. I'm a happy guy.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is your next step. You know there is no power from the outlet, now find out if there is power TO the outlet.
1. If yes, the outlet needs to be replaced.
2. If no, go to the outlet just preceding it in the line and check to see if the wires are all well connected and have power.
Repeat until you find the break in the power supply.- Remove and inspect.
- Turn off power and pull the panel cover it could be a loose wire at the supply.
- Yes I have tested everything and it works when plugged into another outlet. There is no power to that outlet.
- check all GFI outlets,
push the test button, then the reset button
bathroom, kitchen, or maybe outside as the patio outlet
did you unplug the heater, and test the outlet
did you try an extension cord from another outlet to the heater
