I have two emergency exit windows in our motorhome. One of them is in the bedroom and it's the only window in the bedroom. Can these windows be opened? It would be nice to allow some fresh air in the bedroom when the weather is nice. I have read where some people have opened exit windows and they fall out. I definitely don't want this to happen so I have not attempted to open the windows. Here are the pictures of the windows. The one with the lever at the bottom is the bedroom of the window is the one that I'd like to open.

It is safe to open the exit window in the top image, it will not fall out. Not sure about the window in the bottom image.

We open ours all the time....hinged at the top...But, there are no screens on them so, yes, mosquitoes can take advantage of that......:E

In the bottom picture it will not fall out. My previous camper had window just like that, however you will not have a screen so bugs will get in and it will not have a way to support it open. I usually used a stick to hold the window up. But not very good in wind.

The lever with the red plastic tip is the opening device, designed to allow ventilation. The window won't fall out unless opened well beyond the operating range of the lever. I've never seen latches like in the second photo, so I don't know.

I open a window similar to photo one in my Winnebago all the time. Easy open, easy close.

Now would be a good time for a practice run of getting out of them so that you can store the needed 'props' closeby to grab when needed! :)

After you open them put some 303 or baby power on the rubber seals so they don't get stuck shut. Winnebago's used windows that would fall out if you tried to open them. But if you can see what looks like a hinge at the top from the outside you should be able to open them.

Mac the fire guy recommends cutting a dowel rod to hold the window open and keep it by the window so if you need to get out it will hold the window open.

It is actually advised that you do open the emergency windows from time to time as some of them stick shut from lack of use which makes it more difficult to use in an emergency situation. Ours is hinged at the top so does not fall out. Wondering if interior screens are an option for those windows and you could get some from the window manufacturer.

My bedroom exit window is like your top photo. Yes it is made to open, and the handle red lever has a catch to hold it open. Mine also has a quick release screen, and it appears yours may have also.

Our bedroom had a large window on each side very little 6" windows that opened at the bottom. They also swung open at the bottom serving as emergency exits.

I really didn't like the idea of trying to get out of them if we had to so we had the windows replaced with large sliders and screens. We now have good air flow and a lot easier way to get out if needed.
