Endless breeze fan

We will be camping next weekend at a place that we might not make it to before they closed the gates and might have to park elsewhere for the night. With it being pretty warm and the possibility of not running the generator at night for the a/c I was thinking about getting an endless breeze fan or two. We have a couple 12 volt outlets in the dash so one of the fans would reach the over the cab bunk (class c) for our daughter. But our bedroom is in the back of the motorhome that is 31' long. I've seen that there are 25' 12 volt extension cords. Anyone use an extension cord like that on one of the fans? Would it be safe? Te max output of the fans is 3 amps
  • The O2Cool runs a surprising amount of time on those 8 D cells. One lasted me a season of January-April camping where I always had to have air moving on me in the bedroom of my TT.

I'd probably see about a tub of rechargeable D-cells, so I could have eight in the fan, and when on hookups, the rest charging.

I also use the smaller, 2 D-cell version. It doesn't put out much air, but it does help.

They put off a cool breeze in just about every situation you run into... Runs a long time on D-CELLS when you run out of power sockets

Even in the winter time I sit one behind the OIL FILLED Electric heater to move some warm air around...

Thanks Roy, I was looking at those also.

I would assume that the outlets are probably wired to the house battery as is the radio, but I could be wrong.
  • I travel with my dogs, to dog shows, trials and such so I use a lot of fan power in the summer without the benefit AC or a generator. I rewired the battery connections of my O2 cool fans to run off a cigarette lighter plug so I don't need to buy expensive batteries. Both have fairly long cords I picked up at Radio Shack to reach from the floor between the seats of my van all the way to the back windows if need be. I always travel with a portable power pack (sears) that I can plug them into and run fans for the dogs. The power pack will power two fans about 20 hours without a single burp. Hope this setup gives you an idea or two to help find a solution that works for you.

Bryan - Read this from a review at AMAZON

"What you don't know is its power draw and that's a big deal to those of us living inside battery constraints. I have measured it and I'll share:

    low: 15 Watts or 1.25 amps @ 12 VDC
medium: 27 Watts or 2.25 amps
high: 35 Watts or close to 3 amps"

Thats a pretty big power drain running high speed and you know it will be run all night long haha...

My 10-inch blade O2COOL fan will run full time a good two nights on one set of D-CELLS - I forget how many D-cells it uses - at least four each

NOTE: just checked my O2COOL for batteries. It has eight D-CELLS in it haha.. This is sounding like my tent camping days - we would carry a hugh action-packer box with us plum full of D-CELLS batteries haha.. Everything back then ran off of D-CELLS...
