Ethanol from water and metal

Stanford U has announced they can produce ethanol from water and a metal catalyst from methane. on their site at Stanford.eu
Ought to make a lot, of people happy when they get it fully developed.

    You are quite right, :S but "Methane" doesn't appear either!:B
    (I call that a senior moment fat finger!)

    But back to the topic --- I think it's great news if there is a potential for a large scale process that can turn Carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide and then into ethanol.

  • I'm seeing major WIN here. Hook the machine to your tailpipe and by the time you reach your campsite you've got enough alcohol for happy hour. :)
