- LadyRVerExplorer IIUsed to stay at one campground which charged extra for a/c or electric heaters. Never heard of "thrown out" tho. I would assume there is not enough electric to handle all the a/c's.
- larry_cadExplorer IIWe stayed at a campground near Mansfield Ohio once that charged an extra fee for each day if you used your A/C. I think it was $4/day. The second day the power in the whole campground went down for the whole day. It was hot so I ran my genset the whole day. When I checked out, I asked for a refund for that whole day extra charge. They didn't refund it. Haven't stayed there since.
- mat60ExplorerAlso stayed at a campground that charged $4.oo a day extra for AC.
- Dale_TravelingExplorer III suspect you are camped at Fishermen’s Memorial Campground and if you are in area 4 "The electrical service in Area 4 is not adequate for RV air conditioning units during extreme heat,,,"
General Rules. See page 19 - mike_brezExplorerI have stayed at Wawaloam campground in ri. paid for full hook ups and then their was a extra charge if you wanted to run your A/C
- LwiddisExplorer IIOld wiring, limited capacity.
- msmith1199Explorer III seem to recall many years ago staying a campground that had two rates, one for use of A/C and one for not using it. I never heard anybody say don't use it. Maybe the campground has a weak power system and can't handle all the A/C's running.
