What I did in mine was to use a expandable curtain rod and attached it to the wall on both sides of the shower and put the shower curtain over it, this gave me about an extra 6 inches of elbow room.
The shower curtain was still long enough to fit into the shower pan so the water didn't run out on the floor, just experiment with it or get a longer shower curtain. Worked for me, just a thought..............:B
