I have a 2014 F150 with 5L and 355 gears. my window sticker says nothing about a tow package but I have tow/haul, brake controller, 7 & 4 pin connectors and a small (approx. 21" X 3") transmission cooler. is there something else in a tow package that I am missing? Have been towing about 5500# with no problems. Do you all think I could move up to a 7000# gvwr trailer? I have a 4X4 super crew with 145" WB. as far as I can tell I am rated at 7700# towing capacity. Any advice is appreciated!

Tow packages usually also include tow mirrors. If you have been towing without problems, no need to move up to another truck. Unless you want a new truck. Then by all means, go for it. :)

Tow mirrors were included in the Max tow package for a few years. Not on the "normal" tow package. I believe the transmission cooler only come on trucks with the tow package. There are some web sites that can give you a window sticker if you enter your VIN. OR check with you dealer. It sounds like you do have a tow package on your F150. Sounds like a great truck. Enjoy.

Max Tow has 3.73 rear end (factory brake controller as mentioned below) and I think I remember that it has a larger radiator...could be wrong on that.

IIRR if it has the 7 and 4-pin connectors it has the trailer package.Factory brake controller? The Max tow package used to automatically come with tow mirrors but I've heard that's no longer the case (can't confirm it though.)

good to go. You are well within the capacities of the truck. Have to remember. It does not take a HUGE trans cooler to do the job. 7700lbs is plenty of tow cap for that TT. However, IF you want to raise the tow cap. Put on a size smaller tire,( say go from 18s to 17s)
and flash the computer.

Does it also have a powersteering cooler? I bet it does.

Would the power steering cooler also be in front of the radiator? The only thing there is the trans cooler. I don't see one on the window sticker either.

When I bought the tow package for my 2000 F-150 it included some relays.

You would lose your bet. The 2014 does not have a power steering pump. It has an electric motor.

Smaller tires to increase your tow capacity????
This might change your gearing but could also change you carrying capacity. Your towing capacity and your carrying capacity both need to be considered. Your F150 sounds like a good setup from the factory.

Go to the 2014 Ford Towing Guide to find out specifically what your truck is rated to pull.

Towing a 7000# GVWR trailer with this pickup, what gear should I be looking at? How many RPM"s? I seem to always feel best in the lowest gear possible, but then I think I may be "lugging" it too much. Thoughts on this please?

I didn't see the payload of the truck stated. With a 7k trailer TW could be 1000 lbs. If you have the necessary payload and have not exceeded any of the makers limits on any of the components you should be able to safely tow 7k provided everything is set up correctly.

Where do I find payload or tare weight? GVWR is 7350#.
