Hauling from Indiana, I had my commercial plate on the truck (rear) and one on the Trailer. When passing through Minnesota I had a commercial plate which had to be placed on the dash facing out (drivers side). When hauling from Oregon I would use the Washington plates attached to front bumper and to the trailer and tape a Idaho permit on the inside of my windshield. My DOT numbers were displayed on the front of the pick-up box on both sides and the transport company name was on the rear doors.
