Fat people and tables

So I am a pretty big guy and am wondering about the set in tables around a dinette. Some are very tight to squeeze into. What do you big guys do about that? Yes, I know loose weight. Do you not use the table and just eat off plates? Do you set up a table outside with chairs? What if it's raining or there are lots of mosquitoes? Ok, go ahead and laugh.
  • I'm pretty big and I fit fine in my dinette. All dinette's are not created equal, sitting at the end is an option.
  • My belly is the main reason we found a trailer with a table and free standing chairs rather than a dinette - lose some under seat storage, but more versatile and comfortable seating ....
  • We have plus sized friends and family that eats with us sometimes. If just one person, we also have them eat on the end or will put them on one side, Hubby on the end and me on the other side. If four or five of us is eating we'll put the largest on the end and two on each side. We've served as many as 10 inside on a really cold holiday. We put who we can at the table and the others eat off tv tables on the couch and recliners. I usually put the larger people there as they are more comfortable and it's about having a good time anyway.

My hubby also moved our table towards the couch about 3 or 4 inches. Believe me, it did make a difference in getting in and out and comfort. Good luck
  • I don't think people with weight problems is funny either. I fortunately am a skinny guy and can fit our RV dinette easily. But sometimes we travel with more folks than the dinette can handle so I sit in a folding chair at the END of the table in the aisle or on the couch and eat off a tv tray.
  • We have a large man who camps with us. When we're sitting inside at the table, we put a chair on the outside edge of the table for him.
