Fed up with RV covers Wearing Out!

When I bought my RV the dealer gave me a information sheet which said not to use a plastic tarp because it can damage the rubber roof from trapped heat.

Well I cover mine in November and take it off in March so I doubt that would be an issue. Plus he probably wants to sell you a cover.

We had the same problems here in the Southeast with our RV cover. Best available at the time.
I see in ads new cover with panels to let air through instead o billowing in the wind. Every time we had high winds I had to retighten the straps underneath but it was never enough. The material kept stretching or the belts slipped through the buckles. Eventually about the third year the corners on to were gone.
We padded the corners but the corners had all kind of green algae etc on them.
A neighbor had his plastic wall paper slip, in a fairy expensive Fifth wheel and fixtures droop and other problems from heat buildup and moisture. The winds were loaded with moisture and up and under the cover.
The newer ones with the wind panels, or whateever they call them should help a lot The only logical effective solution is a building.
That $400.00 cover or less is not a long term solution and in many cases a problem instead of a solution.
Presents a problem where you live, at least with the picture, I have in mind.
Still the best thing to do is a building with air circulation reduction in inside heat from shielding from sun, and protection from all the elements.

We live in Tucson. We have had an Adco sunbrella fabric cover for 6 years. Still like new.

X-3, only mine is a little bigger, 20x40, and closed on 3 sides.

X-4 a lot easier then messing with a cover especially in the wind.

I'd get a UVA/UVB rated textile and drape the RV in it then weigh it down.
Prolly would be good at keeping dust and possibly rodents out of the unit as well.

Should you want it custom fitted I'm sure a marina shop could help.

Yea, if you want to spend 2 grand.

I agree that the hard cover type is best but we store our trailer in a storage area so this is not possible

Had the better (white Tyvek top), lasted 6 years. By mistake I ordered the cheap ADCO to replace it, lasted just under 2 years.

Trying a Calmark this time, bulkie and heavy to haul up on the trailer, but it looks like it'll last forever.
