Didn't miss it, just that the OP didn't mention being disabled so I didn't mention the Access Pass, you are right though, it has the same benefits as the Senior Pass, unfortunately, to get one, one has to be a little more than just old. ;)

In addition to the federal senior pass, check out similar passes that some state park systems offer. I was pleasantly surprised that neighboring Maryland offered a $10 lifetime senior pass good for free day use admission, as well as half-off camping Sunday - Thursday, and it was open to non-residents. A better deal than my own state gives its residents.

There is only one that fits what you ask. It is now called the America the Beautiful Senior Pass. You do not need to be drawing Social Security income to use it, you just need to be old enough and a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., with identification to establish both. I used my passport as ID to buy mine.

I think it was the Golden Age Passport when I bought it, and one of the National Park entrance gates replaced it with the new one.

Not 100% true. I am not 62, but military and get the ATB pass for free every year. It provides the same free entrance as well as 50% off on ACOE Campgrounds and other Camping spots. We saved at least $200 last year and next month I will go and get mine again.

Thank you for your service to our country and glad you are getting the free admission AND the 50% off benefit on camping. However, the govt. website says that the military free pass does not provide any discount on camping, etc. But I'm glad it works for you.

We're doing some traveling with my parents right now and they have the golden age passport. It was free when they got it and the beauty of it is my wife and I get in for free with them too!

Last time I did the math, we had saved more than $200 in a few years of free admission and campground discounts with the geezer pass. Army COE CGs are the best - cheap to begin with, then discounted 50%.
