Thank you all for the replies, I apologize, I thought I mentioned in the original post that the trailer was loaded with everything we needed to go camping when I weighed it.
Maybe that is where I picked up all the extra weight but I don't think all our clothes, 2 coolers, 32" flat screen TV, full fridge and freezer, dry food and 2 adult bikes inside the camper add up to that much. I also have items like, ground mat, jack stands, tools and misc items in the front storage area.
To go from 2600 lbs rear axle weight to 4340 seems like a lot especially when the hitch weight is supposedly 815, the WD hitch is 88 and that only gets me to 3503. So I am still trying to figure out where I picked up 837 additional lbs. The camper had empty water tanks so there was no additional weight from that.
I just figured out where you got the 1700 lb hitch weight. It is 7840-6140=1700 hitch weight. Add that to the trailer weight of 6180 and the trailer weighs 7880 lbs.. That does not seems right at all!
Something had to be messed up with the scales that day, I had the trailer loaded incorrectly or there was something really wrong with my setup..
Any more info or suggestions is appreciated!
