When we bought the TT we had a '07 Durango and the equalizer was setup for that. When I set the hitch up for the Ram I had to drop the ball a hole in the shank to match the height of the TT coupler but I didn't adjust any of the washers. The hitch has 4 washers in it and I have read that a good starting point is 5 and can go up to 8. The Ram has a longer wheelbase than the Durango, is it possible that I need to re-adjust the hitch? Could that possibly be adding all the extra weight on the rear axle?
