I don't think 1700lbs is too far out of the question for that trailer (via loading), but it is very high.
Reweigh, and check the sidewalls of your tire. A blowout can happen in an hour.
High TW means a more stable tow. Dodge puts the same class IV hitch on the 1/2 ton as the DRW last I checked, so it may not be too much for the hitch.. But the rest of the components??
