Perhaps before the re-weigh, you should consider the following:
In the first post you established that you had 660# of available payload. From this value, you need to deduct the weight of a WDH -- approximately 80#. This leaves you with 580# of available payload to accommodate the vertical load which will be added to the TV by the TT.
With your WDH adjusted to its maximum load transfer ability, you should be able to transfer 25% of the tongue weight to the TT's axles.
This means the maximum allowable loaded TT weight could be 580/0.75 = about 770#.
Assuming a loaded TW% of 13% means you could have a loaded trailer weight of 770/0.13 = about 5900#.
And, that means, if you need to load the TV to 6140# just to carry the family and you don't want to exceed the TV's GVWR, you would not be able to add any cargo to the TT.
But, --- if you are comfortable with exceeding the TV's GVWR, you could load the TT to 7500# (about 1500# of TT cargo).
The TW should be about 7500*0.13 = about 975#.
The WDH could be adjusted to transfer about 25% of the TW to the TT's axles, leaving about 730# to be carried by the TV.
The TV's GVW would be 6140+80+730 = 6950#.
The GVW would exceed the GVWR by 150# (2.2%)
The front and rear GAWs would be about 3500# and 3450# -- well within the 3900# GAWRs.
If you don't want to exceed the TV's GVWR, another option (assuming you have another vehicle, and since most trips are within a hour of home) is to transport some of the family members to the campsite in the second vehicle.
If you didn't already have both the TV and TT, I would always recommend selecting a TV or TT which could result in keeping weights below the manufacturers' ratings.
However, I think exceeding the TV's GVWR by 150# is within your objectives of being safe and making the best you can with what you have.
I would recommend that you purchase a Sherline tongue weight scale so you can check the tongue weight frequently.

Oh man... all these numbers made my head spin.. lol
How would I know if the WDH isn't setup correctly or if it could be adjusted to be more functional?
