- TargaExplorerNow if I could only get my boat to do that.....big freakin problematic money pit.
- wintersunExplorer III have averted an electrical fire in my own vehicle as well as that of another person by having an adjustable spanner and being able to disconnect the battery cable. I would bet that the burned RV had an electrical short and not a problem with the propane powered appliances.
With a RV fire I would be disconnecting the batteries, shutting off the propane, and then grabbing the fire extinguisher if that did not fix the problem.
A lot better than having a fire on a boat or in an airplane. - Dutch_12078Explorer III

Yep... And from the photo in the OP's link, it looks to me like the likely culprit in this incident was an engine fire. Along with transmission/drive line related fires, the most common causes of vehicle fires. - noe-placeExplorerThe argument for running or not running fridge on propane while travelling has been argued extensively on the forums. Mine burnt to the ground while towing it Easter Sunday....I will never run the fridge on propane while traveling again.
You might do better to check regularly for another rat nest in the fridge flue. The next time, you might not be underway when it catches fire, you might be sleeping. - prolandsurveyorExplorerMine burnt to the ground while towing it Easter Sunday....I will never run the fridge on propane while traveling again.
- Iraqvet05ExplorerWow, that completely destroyed that RV. Looks like an older unit..
