Occupied ,unoccupied, at home at a CG none of those factors mattered. It was a fluke occurrence but these things do happen.

If the tv was 120v then it could have just as easily been in his house or any house.
Do you turn off all your breakers when you leave your house?
Do you unhook the battery in your car when you park it for the night?
My dads truck caught fire, pretty sure it started electrically, burned up our garage and 3 cars. Should have disconnected the battery on that one that night. But somehow nothings happened the other 15,000 days I've been alive.
