It was the Note 7 that had the fire issues not the S7!

Bad thing for the dude with the fire. But y'all need to stop the geezer paranoia and find something to occupy your minds with.
If the tv was 120v then it could have just as easily been in his house or any house.
Do you turn off all your breakers when you leave your house?
Do you unhook the battery in your car when you park it for the night?
My dads truck caught fire, pretty sure it started electrically, burned up our garage and 3 cars. Should have disconnected the battery on that one that night. But somehow nothings happened the other 15,000 days I've been alive.

Occupied ,unoccupied, at home at a CG none of those factors mattered. It was a fluke occurrence but these things do happen.

My buddy lost his 28 foot pull trailer as a total loss parked in his driveway. The fire department determined that the fire started in an air compressor electric motor that he had in a rear compartment, I asked him what brand or make of compressor, he bought it at Harbor Freight a little over a month before, he had the trailer plugged in getting the fridge cold to go on a trip to Maine.

The insurance company gave him a hard time, stating that the compressor was not original equipment, took them to court and eventually got some money for a replacement, check your insurance policies your TV or any other item that you have added might not be original equipment according to the insurer and make sure they are covered.

I never power up the coach when in storage. I do run a separate line to the battery maintainer with an in line fuse stat. I have had one TV in my RV life that would come on by itself. We never could find the cause. It was an RCA.

I'm a little confused by this post. If they were out camping wouldn't the smoke detector wake them up? Likely even sooner than he heard it from his yard? Wouldn't he still have grabbed an extinguisher and dealt with it?
Glad it worked out safely.

I'll check and see what brand the tv was. We are all glad it happened when it did, but if he hadn't been outside to hear the smoke alarm it might have been a huge problem. The MH was parked next to a wood shed that is not far from the house.

We keep our camper plugged in 24/7. we'll just keep Insurance.
