Fireplace heater beeping

We have a new Rockwood with a Titan electric fireplace heater. Every time you hit a button on the unit or the remote it beeps loudly. I've read online about disabling or removing the piezo speaker and wondering if anyone has done this. I assume this would void my warranty but I really don't care. It's driving the dog crazy.
  • Try stuffing a cotton ball in it to muffle the sound.

I have taped over pizo deices to mute them but usually.. They come in two types.

PC Mount.. now disabling those has to be done very carefully. Basically unsolder and remove

Wire lead type Often if you trace the wire back to the PC board there is a plug. Simply unplug.> NOTE you an get a "less noisy" one and plug in

Option 2 is cut a wire and tape the ends both off. and together but not touching

Do it so it is clear what has been done.
  • So I disassembled the unit and found the piezo. I carefully drilled out the back of it till the back came off. I saw a foil diaghram and removed it. Beeping is 100% gone. Reassembled and tested. Success

Now you just need some wood for the fireplace - and turn the AC "up"..:W
