It is not always the campers.
It was a Chinese shipping company that brought the EABs to this continent. They landed in the Port of Detroit in crates made of infested wood.
True, but several vectors (both natural and human-transportation) have spread it much faster than just natural dispersion.
I do have reservations about the "global economy." Politicians are so ready to espouse global trade, and while there is some good that comes from it, there is also much bad...as in loss of jobs, and in this case, loss of ash trees (which also results in loss of jobs, vegetative diversity, scenic beauty, etc)
