While I agree about the spread of the EAB, some campgrounds actually ban the scraps you guys are talking about. I think that is what irritates me the most! to buy a campgrounds non-seasoned, won`t light, smoky wood for $5-7 a 5 piece bundle is ridiculous. and even if it is seasoned, it would cost near $20 a day for a campfire. over the course of a long weekend that is approx. $80 +/- to have a fire! I`m not saying this is a reason to spread the EAB, but come on! if you want to stop the spread then make it more appealing to the camper to do so! some campgrounds give it to you for free! BTW I don`t bring it with me on long trips, it`s just too much to bring with. I do bring my scraps and other kiln dried firewood with me, despite what a campground threatens.
