Flat Towing

Looking for recommendations for flat towing 2012 or 2013 vehicle.
Appreciate all answers.
  • We absolutely love our 2013 Ford C-Max Energi. Easy tow 4 down and great fuel economy in gas or electric mode. You can even plug in at most campgrounds!!
  • It's kind of hard to give good recommendations without knowing what you're looking for in the vehicle besides the ability to flat tow.

That said, I'm really happy with my "normal" car, a 2012 Honda Fit. It's not bad driving, particularly as small econoboxes go, and the interior space utilization and adaptability are amazing. The 2013 and earlier Fits are flat towable with either the manual or automatic transmissions. (The newest Fits can only be flat towed if they have a manual transmission; the CVT is not flat towable.)
  • Jeep Wrangler (I would prefer the Rubicon)
Manual transmission Subaru (the automatic transmission versions are NOT towable in any way!)
Any front wheel drive, on a dolly.
  • Smart Car. Its light and you and your rv won't even know its back there.Of course you have to be ready to get lots of stares.. If you don't like attention then don't get one..
  • Hi Doug, was is the same boat as you and after looking around and checking options, We decided on a 2012 CRV, we found one certified with only 28000
miles so we got it. In process of getting it to dealer to have a towing package installed . They are backed up for 3-4 weeks.
