No glass house here, We have plans for Halloween , Thanksgiving and New Years camping either local or just a bit farther south but still in Alabama. We only use air pressure to blow out the water lines and the pink stuff in the toilet and drain pipes. We buy 2-3 cords of firewood a year for home and camping use and we watch the local weather and can plan winter camping to a number of year round camp grounds within 100 miles. Late Jan and Feb are about the only months we go through withdrawal.

Just did mine last friday. yes, it was a sad day.

I feel sorry for people in Montgomery Alabama area or all of Alabama for that matter who are not smart enough to winterize their RV's. Here's why:

Anniston: 18 (Record 20 in 1903)
Birmingham: 20 (Record 18 in 1903)
Fort Payne: 14 (Record 22 in 2008)
Huntsville: 21 (Record 21 in 1951)
Mobile: 23 (Record 27 in 1951) 
Montgomery: 16 (Record 22 in 2008)
Muscle Shoals: 20 (Record 17 in 1903)
Tuscaloosa: 21 (Record 22 in 1951)

BTW, we were in a CG overnighting in 2008 on the south side of Montgomery (South Blvd near I-65 behind the gas station) in 2008 when it was the low 20's F so we know how cold it gets. Lots of frozen water lines in the RV's and in the CG. 16 to 20 F in Alabama is beyond bone chilling and feels much colder than -28 F when we were our RV in Chapleau, Ontario Canada.

Perhaps a poster with glass windows shouldn't throw stones!

LOL. I'm always amused by those who do this passive aggressive thing about regional weather, acting like a change of season/temperature is somehow bad.

Myself, I like the difference between seasons, including a true winter and cold temperatures, or I'd move to someplace else.

LOL, thanks for the sympathies! We winterized and put ours into indoor storage a week and a half ago. It is not cold here, but the endless rains are definitely here which really starts to put a damper on camping. We will get it back out of storage in March or April, sigh.:(
