I see a number of threads lately about those having problems getting to watch TV.I have Dish, the over-the-air Digital box, and I think I now have the cable rigged up. I will check that functionally when I get the chance.But consider taking all your favorite DVD's with you. Don't you have some movies that you could watch over and over? I certainly do, and I have a fair-to-middling collection from over the years.This also works with the grandkids. I like cartoons and so do they.This idea requires no hookups or receivers, etc. Its my backup plan, what's yours?

My backup plan is using my OTA Bat wing antenna and watch the NATL BROADCAST from the local towns which is transmitted in FULL BLOWN HIGH DEF TV mode... Works just everywhere we go here on the East side of the US.Roy Ken

I tossed all our DVD and CD plastic cases long-long ago and put the actual disks in a binder-folder that holds a hundred CD's. Got one for music and the other for television. Works for us. Trailer came with a built in DVD player and surround sound, why not use it?

I do appreciate and understand those folks who disconnect from the world, however being self employed I cannot. I also do enjoy getting lost in a movie some of which I've seen many times. But it's how I unwind. I travel either satellite, jackd antenna, and DVDs. Mother Nature is beautiful but falling asleep watching a movie is good to. Whatever helps you to relax and unwind is a good thing

Thanks wa8yxm. My sole purpose is for use in my TT. I have a 2tb external drive and controller I used to use for shows I recorded from TV that I plan to use for this. I don't plan to do away with the hard copies I keep in my home. I'm just looking for a convenient way to have some in the TT as we do a lot of doondocking.

Well, as it happens I have a right to flame about copyright laws in many cases as I actually own a few copyrights.. But....

My position is this: IF you own a legal copy (DVD) and you simply move that copy to a form that makes it easier for you to enjoy it,, and KEEP THE ORIGINAL LEGAL COPY (Do not either give away the original or give away copies) I have no complaint.

I only complain when you pass out copies without authorization. (or receive them).

IN my case, since the works I own are "Copyrighted Public Domain" only if you CHARGE for them, but that's another can of fish bait.

And I need to look up one of those recordings just now (I have rights to both recordings and printed matter, But the odds of any of you even finding my material ... Kind of slim)

We must have a couple hundred DVD's at home and it would be nice to have at least some of them available on the road.

Kiethhaw, goclick. I know someone out there will flame about copy write laws but as I see it iv'e already bought the dvd and I'm simply re-locating it also I have copied all my old vhs tapes as well.

I had tons of DVD's but I loaded them all onto a four terabyte external hard drive that now has every movie and good cable and TV series I could get my hands on and takes up the same amount of room as a box of Kraft Dinner instead of a whole cabinet add a WD live media player and the whole 4 terabyte collection works from a single remote. I think back to my Dad's 32' Prowler he had in Wheatly, he was so proud of himself because he had a TV so I could watch my Saturday cartoons and he and his cronies could catch the hockey games, if he could see my rig now,,,,

To each his own, I say. For myself, I can watch Peter Sellers any time. I like to see John Wayne in The Quiet Man every St. Patrick's Day, and I like a lot of the old classics such as those with Hunphrey Bogart. There are many others, but I won't take up any more space.

Where we go there is no OTA tv reception, sometimes there is no phone either. We take some DVD's and books but when it rains every afternoon for a week or two, they get old fast. So this year we have a tailgater satellite system. Not just for the entertainment but also news on fires and weather. Like the generator I hope we don't need it but will be happy we have it when we do.
