I have been trying to get reservations at Fort Wilderness for years. Doesn't matter the time of year or how many days we try to reserve. Their online reservation site always says they don't have any sites available, except for tent sites. I have tried putting in a year in advance, fall, summer, spring doesn't matter. How are people getting reservations?

I would try using a travel agent that specializes in WDW, in particular the Fort. I don't know if I can directly provide his name here as it might be considered advertising, but there is one who advertises on Fortfiends.net who I've used and he knows the ins and outs of the Disney reservation system. I'd suggest using someone like that. Costs you nothing... they get their commission from Disney.
No,it's not me and I have no connection to him... but a mod can remove my post if they'd like.- PghBobExplorerMetalGator, your problems scheduling some time at the Fort are atypical. The times that are the hardest to get a spot are the Holidays, like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years, and July 4. Need to plan at least one year in advance for these times. At other times, you should be able to make reservations in advance. The weekends tend to be busier than week days in our experience. If having trouble making reservations on line, try calling. I think the number is (407) WDW-STAY.

When are you trying to reserve? We went in October, which is considered "off-season", and never had an issue getting a campsite. Actually, the campground was only about 3/4 full.
It has been awhile since we've gone, but have you tried calling and talking to a person?
This may be reaching, but... are you using Firefox on your computer when you try the reservations system? If so, try using Google. Sometimes computer programs don't properly work with certain operating systems.
Look on the various Disney forums online for help. A lot of people out there would love to help out! - ependydadExplorerWe LOVE Fort Wilderness and Disney in general. We spent 3 weeks there in 2017 and I think 6 weeks there in 2016. Split up over multiple trips, but it was still a good time.
Here are a couple of articles that should help:

Back to the Fort, I must agree about Tent camping too at the Fort. We did that in the very early 90's when there were no Pet loops but included in your stay was boarding at their kennel. We did two weeks in a tent back then and had such a wonderful time..great memories. - Ski_Pro_3ExplorerWe first went to Ft. Wilderness in 1975. Back then there was a canal that ran behind each camp spot with a canoe for the folks there to use. I also remember deer roaming around, especially on the beach. Dinner in the lodge was the 'Review' and was served in metal buckets family style at the table with unlimited refills. We camped and used the laundry room to dry out our sleeping bags once when it rained and the tent wasn't closed right. Yup, tent camped.
I'd say it was much better back in those days of Davey Crockett! - TomG2ExplorerSadly, I scratched Fort Wilderness off my list. Waited too long to get reservations and I started trying thirty years ago. Just kidding, but I never got in, even with a one year lead time and I won't book two or three years ahead. Looks like a great place.
- justinhscottExplorerJust got back from 6 nights and we enjoyed it so much we booked the same week next February. Stayed close to the marina, which we loved. It's expensive by "camping" standards, and cheaper than any of the Disney hotels. To each their own.
You need reservations waaay in advance for some dates. As I said, we already booked a week for Feb 2019. - Denny___JamiExplorer
