Freezer question
This is a picture of the door to my freezer. It is a Dometic model DM2663RBX. My question is what is the thing on the left side of the door intended to be used for? I don't have an ice maker...

I wouldn't want to put soda cans in the freezer... too easy for them to go kaboom. I just use that space for stashing a freezer pack or two.
