I owned a wholesale and retail fuel business, and sold hundreds of millions of gallons over my time in it. When I travel, I don't worry about fresh fuel, and I don't use additives. The internet is good for creating worries when there need not be worries.
Today's gas stations all do WAY more volume than people imagine. Unless maybe you are at a little seasonal general store up in the woods. Even then, you'd be surprised. The entire fuel inventory chain is "just in time" and high volume these days. Fuel does not sit around in inventory going stale.
