Fuel issues in Georgia

Just saw on GMA Georgia gasoline tainted by rainwater from Irma. Does anybody have any local knowledge. We leave for Georgia Oct 1.

All are "Fake News", huh. I prefer to listen to the radio and avoid TV. :h
  • Gasoline doesn't mix with water. Water floats on gasoline. Water is also easily detected in an underground tank. Your chances of getting water are pretty remote from any brand name operation. And if you did, it would be all water not mixed.

    X2!!

  • Actually, the state agency that assures the accuracy of the gasoline pumps and the quality of gasoline in Georgia is being aggressively proactive in assuring that no water is in any gasoline since the excessive rains not only from Hurricane Irma, but actually all summer. Your purchase of gasoline in Georgia is probably safer than many other states.

This is a classic example of the news media hyping something to a ridiculous point, and a person taking the hype to the next level.
  • I'm leaving for GA. and south tomorrow and will be needing only Diesel. :)

For gas carry a few spare fuel filters with you and the tools to change them.
If not needed they can be used later.

    Enjoy your trip.

    Interesting first post...
To suggest that every fuel station in every city in every region has been inundated with rain water seems a little silly to me.
