thats why it was so impressive.
i work the overnight shift during the weekends.yard goat duty so outside all night.
and yes it was cold. - DutchmenSportExplorerActually, the moon was pretty impressive last night. I stepped outside of the trailer to let the dog potty (drive way camp), and it was bright as day almost. I could even see my shadow clearly. It was cold as an iceberg, but skies were perfectly clear. Very impressive. Can't wait till tonight.
We're also in the country where we can turn off all lights and see actual "dark". But for you folks who live under street lights, you'd be surprised how bright it actually is at night when there's no street lights, porch lights, or outside camper lights on.
I can look across the field behind or in front of the house, and see the tree lines pretty clear, almost 1/2 mile away. I can see coyotes in the fields sometimes... all without artificial light. - gboppExplorerWe live in a small town that just installed new LED streetlights. We can see everything except the sky. :(
- DiskDoctrExplorerThank you. Only twice in the past few years have we had clear enough skies to view any of the major showers here.
We are deep in the country with no light pollution but our own that we can turn off.
We'll be watching Dec 13-14 and hoping for clear sky :)
