Nearly all of our camping is of the dispersed variety in the northwest, so we don't typically have neighbors to bother other than friends/family camping with us on any given trip. We generally only need to use the AC when we have a baby that needs a nap during the hot part of the day, and it's very worth it for that situation. Our youngest and last is 15 months so those days will end fairly soon. Generally by evening, even in July, it's cool enough in the mountains to not need any AC. The only other time I need a generator is to run a pot of coffee in the morning before I throw it into a thermos to keep warm. Maybe 10 minutes.
I realize there are ways around avoiding generator use but they're **** convenient and since my family consists of me and four women, keeping them comfortable is very beneficial if I want to enjoy the trip. :B
