I have a little minibike that I bring along. So far it seems dependent on who you meet and how you conduct yourself. I've met rangers that wave and don't care, and I've met park rangers who literally threatened to handcuff me if I didn't shut it off and walk it back to my site. If you are considerate with it and it's quiet most people don't seem to care much.
